We are linking with Woodlodge Nursing Home in Castlewellan. We are starting with a pen pal project whereby we will write to 18 of the residents and they will write back to us. This will provide a real purpose for writing. The 18 residents will join us in the summer term to replant seedlings the children have grown as well as having lunch with the pupils. This project is starting with P4-P7 but we hope to involve other classes too. We hope this will help pupils gain a better understanding of how to care for and talk to the elderly of our community.
