Parents play a crucial role in supporting their children’s learning. At South Eastern Regional College we understand that some parents may have difficulty supporting their children’s learning because they lack the skills needed to help with school homework.
To help try and address this, the Adult Education Team at SERC have developed a course called ‘Restart Education’. Providing support to parents, this free course builds skills in literacy, numeracy, science, IT, personal development, social science and study skills. We welcome adults who have been out of education for some time and with small classes and supportive staff individuals quickly grow in confidence and skills. For parents, it can mean the whole family benefits as they start to enjoy learning and then share their learning at home.
‘Restart Education’ is offered on a part-time basis at our Newcastle campus on the Castlewellan Road with a new course due to commence in September 2023.
Please come to the ‘Restart Education’ course for the pupils’ parents at St Mary’s PS. We are hosting a drop-in coffee morning at our campus on Friday 9th June 2023, 10:00am-1pm.
