Year 2/3 enjoyed a fantastic workshop on ‘Play in the Past’. The interactive workshop was delivered by Madeline McGreevy from Kathleen’s Attic. The boys and girls had the opportunity to handle and play with toys and table games from a bygone age. In the session, they discussed the materials used to make the toys, viewed pictures of children playing in 1900s, tried on some costumes and learned about how the toys are powered (pull/push). The children also discussed who might have used the toys i.e. A poor or rich child. Finally, we all compared the old toys to toys today. Many of the children said they preferred old toys to new toys!
