As part of our WAU topic, Autumn and Harvest, today we boarded the bus and set off for Armagh Palace Stables to take part in a range of activities to celebrate Apple Fest. We learnt so much! First of all, we explored how the apples grow, get harvested and end up in the shops for us to buy. Next we met Mr. Armstrong who showed up how to press apples to make apple juice; some of us even had a go at using the apple press. It was hard work! After that, Sylvia helped us to make our own craft to show the life cycle of an apple tree from pip to flower to fruit. Our last activity saw us in Mrs. Russet's kitchen where we got to make some apple potato bread. Everyone had a great day amd it was a great way to finish our topic!
