Collection of Work

19th Mar 2020

Dear Parents,

There will be work available to pick up from school tomorrow for each pupil. The work will can be collected at the following times from the office door of the school only. Please use social isolation when waiting to collect the work.

Reception/Year 1: 10-10.30am

Year 2/3: 10.30-11

Year 4/5: 11-11.30

Year 6/7: 11.30-12

If you have more than one child please pick all packs up when you come.

Each child is different and has different needs, they will need varying degrees of help when
completing work. Can work please be completed on the worksheets provided or in the exercise book given. Can spelling tests please be done once a week in the exercise books. May we ask you to regularly check this work and mark it for the children. We of course will be also looking at the children’s work when it will eventually be returned at the end of this crisis. You may email the principal on omcnally563@c2kni.net if you need any assistance during this time.
As well as work being sent home we have also provided a comprehensive list of online websites that can also be used to challenge and extend pupils where necessary. There are a wealth of worksheets online that can be used to reinforce your child’s learning. Accelerated Reader usernames and passwords have been provided from Year 4-7. We urge you to use these on a daily basis and comprehensive instructions have been provided. Year 1-3 can avail of the Vooks website, LibraryNI, Oxford Owl and Reading Eggs. Once again use these every day if possible. Transfer packs have been given to all Year 6 pupils.

The staff will work on these issues over the next days and weeks and we will continue to keep you informed and support you in every way we can. We will follow EA
guidance and keep parents up to date with all new advice via Facebook, our website and our school app.

We have a truly wonderful community in Dechomet and I know we will all strive to help and support one another at this very challenging time. We would ask the whole school community to think about how we can help and support each other.

We will stay in contact and continue to follow guidance. Please stay safe.
